About Coach Linda Langerak
I was already a young adult when I first started martial arts 25 years ago. I began by taking an evening community kickboxing course and was hooked from the start. As a lifelong athlete it was exactly what I needed at the time and still do.
Martial arts changed my life and opened doors that would not have been possible had I not started down the path of training. I became one of only two females to compete in the first professional sanctioned MMA event in Canada, in the Adrenaline Fighting Championships held in Langley BC in July of 2003. That bout subsequently led to two more pro MMA bouts in the US the following year.
I bring to the table a strong competitive spirit coupled with a great love for teaching and helping others achieve their athletic goals. My expertise is personal protection and self-defense. I recently retired after 16.5 years, from a very rewarding career in Close Protection (aka. Bodyguard), and my utmost desire is to share the knowledge I’ve learned so that others may develop a strong, positive mindset, as well as skills both physical & mental, that will empower them in everyday life.
I am proud to call Black Lotus home. Every single instructor brings their own style and personality to the teachings they have learned from Soke Nic and it’s such a pleasure to train with them all! I’m certain you will love it here too.
